Our client acts as Depositary Bank for a wide range of UCIs across various client segments both within the field of traditional and alternative investment funds.

They are looking for an Account Manager at their Alternative Funds’ desk for a temporary mission as a temp worker (interim) with the possibility of a fixed-term contract or a permanent contract at the end of the mission.

The candidate assumes the responsibility for the effective performance of account management duties from a depositary perspective, i.e. recordkeeping and ownership verification for our alternative investments funds. He performs cash flow monitoring and participates in the materialisation of first line of defence controls relating to alternative funds in line with AIFMD requirements and internal procedures, escalate identified issues as required. He contributes to the fund assessments with regards to the funds’ strategies and their complexity as to determine how to apply our processes in line with the nature, scale and complexity of each Fund. He monitors and report on the effectiveness of the operational output from third party service providers, and escalate any identified issue where appropriate. He participates in the coordination of projects, requests for proposals, audits and holding confirmation campaigns, due diligences (AIFMs, central administrators). He works with internal & external parties to resolve queries.

The ideal candidate has a master’s degree or equivalent in economics, management, law, or any other relevant education, ideally supplemented with trainings in the field the banking and / or the fund industry overall with emphasis on alternative funds. He has at least 3 years’ experience in a similar position, fund control or operations, client service management with focus on alternative funds’ activities and operations, any experience in the field of audit is welcomed. He broads fund industry knowledge of the responsibilities of the Depositary under AIFMD. An understanding of complex Private Equity, Real Estate, and Hedge Funds’ strategies being a distinct advantage for the role.

He has a problem solving approach coupled with a « can do » attitude. An ability to connect different elements together, and manage various risks effectively. He has high and constant level of commitment, is equally comfortable working independently or within a team. Ability to coordinate work across multiple disciplines, prioritise, and handle multiple tasks while meeting tight deadlines

He has good communication skills i.e. able to articulate complex issues and deliver concise messages verbally and in writing in both English and French. Working proficiency in French required since being the corporate language of the Bank. Computer literacy consisting of strong functional knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications, particularly in Excel, knowledge in VBA being an asset.
