We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, an international insurance company based in Luxembourg, providing commercial insurance solutions to corporate clients across Europe. Operating in a dynamic and multicultural environment, the company is committed to delivering high-quality underwriting expertise and tailored risk solutions.
To support its growth, our client is looking for a motivated Junior Underwriter to join its underwriting team, with a primary focus on Property lines and reinsurance placement.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Operational Support
- Provide technical support to underwriting and reinsurance placement activities for both new business and renewals.
- Ensure that all underwriting activities comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements across the EU.
- Support administrative tasks including data entry, premium calculations, documentation checks, and monitoring of reinsurance premium payments.
Underwriting & Risk Management
- Assist in the development of underwriting guidelines, rating frameworks, and best practices to minimise risk and enhance efficiency.
- Contribute to the drafting and development of policy wordings in collaboration with internal teams and external legal advisors.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with internal departments and group entities to ensure smooth execution of insurance programmes.
- Liaise with brokers and clients on policy-related queries and ensure timely follow-ups.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and reinsurers to support business retention and acquisition.
✅ Profile Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Property & Casualty insurance, ideally with exposure to multi-lines.
- Experience in underwriting, claims, broking, or reinsurance is strongly preferred.
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience handling complex cases.
- Proven ability to manage multiple or large accounts and deliver within deadlines.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Additional languages such as French, Dutch, or Chinese are considered an asset.
