Our client is a famous Bank located in Luxembourg. They are looking for a Back Office Assistant M/F for a permanent contract. The bank is focused in providing corporate banking, trade finance and private banking solutions. The aim of the role is to ensure a proper execution of Customer instructions, Treasury transactions & Regulatory reporting, control the executed transactions & reports, assist the Head of the department and the Officer to manage the department.

He participates in all activities related to the settlement of securities operations
including the pre-matching and matching of settlement instructions, the
transmission of settlement instructions to counterparties and the chasing of
counterparties in case of missing settlement confirmation. He sends instructions to sub-custodians from external properties (SWIFT, FTP, fax, emails). He follows up on foreign exchange operations coming from securities transactions. He prepares the daily cash reconciliation to check the availability of funds in different currencies. He contributes to determine the daily cash and treasury needs. He maintains a complete and up-to-date database including rules approved with counterparties. He is responsible for the quality of operational support provided to clients’transactions by guaranteeing that all the commercial life-cycle aspects are well managed, within market timeframes and within a controlled environment in order to minimize risks. He monitors and controls the transactions by checking that the potential issues are raised or solved.
He provides stakeholders information regarding failed transactions and their potential impacts on other processes in a timely manner. He liaises with accountability centers to ensure an effective commercial flow. He actively contributes to the continuous processes’ improvement. He presents regular activity reporting to the management.
He ensures the securities settlement treatment, control and validation for clients. He collects securities financial information and integrates the data received from
sub-custodians as well as the market data in order to get all financial information
available in the database. He reconciles the cash and securities and ensures the follow-up with the subcustodian and/or external brokers. He is in charge of the regular reporting related to the portfolio evolution. He monitors and controls the transactions by checking that the potential issues are raised or solved. He updates and controls the securities pricing in the core system. He monitors and controls the transactions by checking that the potential issues are raised or solved. He collects securities financial information and integrates the data received from sub-custodians as well as the market data in order to get all financial information available in the database. He proactively proposes alternatives to improve the process optimization. He prepares the daily cash reconciliation to check the availability of funds in different currencies. He contributes to determine the daily cash and treasury needs. He maintains a complete and up-to-date database including rules approved with counterparties. He controls and reconciles on a daily basis Nostro accounts ensuring that the information reported by the third party is aligned with the one registered in internal systems. He is in charge of checking the differences observed in the reconciliations and of communicating and investigating with related departments. He ensures in due time the relevance of explanations linked to discrepancies and that the gaps observed are resolved.
He reports all the unreliable/fictive transactions according to the current processes
defined in the bank and to the regulation requirements. He performs the analysis and reconciliation of monthly billings and banking fees. He coordinates all activities related to cash transactions including cash entries and outlays, direct debits, credit card, term placement/deposit, etc. He ensures that the operations are performed as per the current regulations and applies the required warning measures. He is responsible for the quality of operational support provided to clients’ transactions by guaranteeing that all the commercial life-cycle aspects are well managed, within market timeframes and within a controlled environment in order to minimize risks.

raised or solved. He provides clients and stakeholders information regarding failed transactions and their potential impacts on other processes in a timely manner.
He ensures that the banking tax procedures are updated and compliant with the law
and with national and international tax regulations (FATCA, CRS, QI). He prepares the report to be submitted to the Tax authority under the manager’s supervision. He monitors regular tax watches. He analyses and makes recommendations when required.
He ensures the execution of the loan transaction. He ensures the follow-up of the transactions. He monitors periodic reviews of the credits held by existing clients and evaluates their solvability.
He ensures the writing and sending of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports to both internal and external or national and international clients (summary of daily operations, audit confirmation, etc.). He relays information and report of our institution to the different stakeholders (KYC AML questionnaire, Wolfsberg, etc.)
He keeps up-to-date with regulatory evolutions. He proactively proposes improvement and optimization axis related to current reporting practices. He assists the Officer and the manager in the duties (tasks allocation, project management, backup, conflict resolution, etc.)

The ideal candidate has minimum 5 years of experience in a similar department He has a master’s degree related to the area of expertise. He is fluent in foreign languages English and Portuguese (ideally). French is an advantage. He has good communication skills (oral and writing). He has good knowledge of computer-based tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook. He has a good command of company financial analysis and good knowledge of stock exchanges. He has a good understanding of financial products (forex, money market, collateral). He has a good knowledge in tax regulation and legal requirement. He has analytical, synthetic mind-set and problem-solving skills. #1311202
