The Role / Responsibilities
To strengthen its Financial Control team based in Luxembourg, our client is seeking a Financial Controller. Reporting to the Head of Financial Control, Europe, you will be responsible for the financial oversight of several EMEA-based asset management subsidiaries.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring accurate accounting under IFRS and Local GAAP;
- Managing monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings;
- Reviewing and challenging revenue and cost structures in collaboration with Finance Operations;
- Supporting the preparation and review of regulatory returns (capital, liquidity);
- Assisting with tax filings (direct and indirect taxes, transfer pricing compliance);
- Preparing statutory accounts, dividend proposals, and board reports;
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Risk, Treasury, Tax, and Regulatory;
- Identifying and implementing process improvements.
The Ideal Profile
- Qualified accountant with solid experience in IFRS and Local GAAP;
- Strong communication skills and experience engaging with senior stakeholders;
- Fluent in English (French or German is a plus);
- Proficient in Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) is a plus;
- Analytical mindset with a focus on process efficiency and control;
- Experience in statutory accounts production or audit is essential; regulatory reporting experience is a plus;
- Knowledge of international tax compliance and the asset management industry is advantageous;
- Willingness to travel occasionally;
- A proactive, organized, and collaborative team player with leadership potential.
